About Us

Christian Bowhunters of America is a non-denominational ministry to the bowhunting world. It was incorporated in the state of Michigan on July 23, 1984 and the Founder is Rev. David L. Roose of Cadillac. He is also the former president of Michigan Bow Hunter, and a regular member of the Professional Bowhunters Society and Pope & Young. He also was the State Host Chairman of the 1995 Pope & Young Convention at Grand Traverse Lodge in Grand Traverse Bay, MI.

In February 1998, Dr. Wally Harder was appointed CBA's first Executive Director. His duties included the coordination of shows and shoots, speaking engagements, correspondence and various other duties to help organize CBA more effectively.

On August 1st, 2002, the CBA board reorganized electing board member Bob Johnson to Administrative Coordinator and Dr. Harder to Ministry Coordinator. Bob's duties focus on fund-raising and administering archery events, and Wally's duties are now concentrated on ministering and counseling to bowhunters.

We have over 2000 members covering all fifty states. We have 69 chapters and every year there is an Annual Shoot where CBA'rs can gather to shoot and fellowship together. This year we have over sixty events scheduled. Typical of those events are sports shows and archery shoots. When we go to these events we set up a booth to meet the public and tell them about CBA and our Savior. On Sunday morning we conduct a worship service for those who are interested. Wherever we go some join us and that bowhunting ministry of the Lord grows in strength
